Overview of the Pastoral Care Call Policy

This policy has been established to ensure the safety and privacy of both the minor and our pastoral staff/volunteers, while maintaining transparency with you, the parent/guardian.

Key Safety Protocols:

Written Consent is Mandatory: We must have explicit, written consent from you before initiating any contact with your child.
Allowed Contact Methods: Communication is strictly limited to phone calls and text messages for pastoral check-ins.
Prohibited Contact: Video calls, video messages, and social media interactions are strictly prohibited.
Team-Based Approach: All calls are conducted with more than one adult present (e.g., the Youth Pastor and his wife, or another staff/volunteer). One-on-one calls are never allowed.
Pre-Call Notification: You will receive an email and text notification prior to each scheduled call, including the time, duration, and purpose.
Time Limit: Each pastoral care call is limited to 10 minutes to ensure focused interaction.
Mandated Reporting: Our staff is trained and required to follow established protocol for immediate reporting if a child discloses abuse, neglect, or intent to self-hard/harm others.
